The Red Road flats in Glasgow were once home to more than 4,500 people. Now, most of the blocks have been emptied and demolition has begun. Jamal, a failed Iraqi Kurdish asylum seeker, lived alone in one block for several months, refusing to move out. If he did, he feared eviction from the UK; if he returned to his homeland, he believed he would be killed.
