An illustrated talk by Chris Leslie presenting A Balkan Journey, his 30-year photographic exploration of the post-conflict former Yugoslavia

Chris will present A Balkan Journey, in an illustrated talk on his 30-year photographic exploration of the post-conflict recovery and reconstruction in the former Yugoslavia. A Balkan Journey explores the psychological and physical legacies of war while examining the role of memory, resilience, and collective identity in processes of reconciliation and rebuilding.

Chris’ talk will include exclusive excerpts from his latest documentary – The Partisan Necropolis (2026), which examines contested heritage in post-conflict Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As a filmaker and director, A Balkan Journey project marked Chris’ introduction to photography. Last copies of his Limited-edition books will be available to buy.
