Photography Assignments

I have recently graduated with distinction from an online part time MA Documentary course ran by London College of Communication (December 2009).   My main photography work is documentary based and I have been commissioned by several NGO’s and charities to document their humanitarian programmes throughout Africa, Eastern Europe, and Asia. These assignments have ranged from Child Headed Households in Rwanda, the plight of the elderly poor and widowed in India, child Labourers in Nepal, to documenting state institutions for children throughout Eastern Europe and CIS. more…

Multimedia

Having in depth knowledge of film making, audio recording and editing has contributed to much of my recent work being multimedia based, combining elements of audio recording and video with my photography to tell the stories of those I have photographed in a much more engaging  and interesting way. I believe that sadly the power of a single photograph no longer holds the key to storytelling and the internet hosts the perfect platform and the ideal ‘venue’ to tell stories effectively, quickly and cheaply and to a mass audience. more…

Educational projects

I have since been commissioned to run several community education projects and from 1997 – 2001 I set up and ran my own photography project for children in Sarajevo, Bosnia as a creative outlet project for children of the cities main orphanage.  My most recent projects have included running a multimedia project for children from Dalmarnock in the East End of Glasgow as well as working with Ceartas and a group of elderly men suffering from trauma.  more…
